How did I get into this? Let me take you back to how it all started. For as long as I can remember – I was interested in playing dress up – putting on my aunt’s high heels, “borrowing” Mom’s pink lipstick and prancing around the house trying to emulate celebrity actresses I would watch in Bollywood (Indian) films. As I grew a bit older, I realized not only was I super into what I was wearing – but I quickly became a guide for friends and family – often styling them for anything and everything! From fun sleepover “makeovers” and living room fashion shows at the age of six – to styling friends for events like their 16th birthdays, proms, graduations and even weddings!
Styling was a passion and a hobby that I didn’t even count in my then list of things I enjoyed. That changed a few years after college when I was unemployed in the summer of 2005 as I found myself seeking the next big step in my professional career in Marketing & PR. That summer, a friend caught wind of the fact that I had a keen interest in fashion/styling and offered me a part time position at a high-end retail boutique he owned in Houston, Texas. That was the first time I realized that this was not only a passion, but something that I truly enjoyed and was quantifiably good at. What solidified that further, and the reason I’m finally here today is the faith and gentle nudge of close friends and family who said they’d gladly pay for these services.
Today, I can confidently say that I am an efficient and knowledgeable stylist who absolutely loves doing this. I’m already so excited to help you discover, rediscover, or enhance your personal style!
